Great job here, but it's obviously too brief

Yeah, it is a loop, but it's so nice enough quality to make you want more! You want to hear a singer or a synth come in! You should re-vamp this whole thing and make it a full song.

Not many people here at newgrounds can make good music with analog mixers or whatever your using (live audio, basically). You need to step it up and make something really cool for us!

Your kick bass is really freaking loud, it kind of distracts me. BTW this is a great drum sample, i like it a lot. And the hi-hats should be panned to the LEFT, not the right :P

Hehe, cool i get pesonse for Pop as well...maybe ill make a full version...i just got this melody in my head but since im a metal artist, i couldn't use it for anything else than Pop...Thanks for reviewing anyway, we'll see if there will be a full one...maybe i'll even be a "Pop-artist" many thinks my metal tracks are too "Poppy".Keep your eyes open!

You just <i>get</i> it, you know!

You really transcribed the "sliding race" theme from SMW 64 so well! It keeps the original mood very nicely! It is undoubtedly technically appealing, and the emotion is definitely there. You just need to get yourself a couple of Shure SM57 mic's and an audio interface, and you can record this great piano of yours (i can tell it's a good piano, just terrible quality recording) as well as it should be. If anyone here at newgrounds deserves the equipment, it's you. Keep it up, man.

Very emotionally strong!

When I heard you title this "generic tragedy music," i was expected some kind of aeris's theme (FF7), or just long and loud strings. But this is very unique, it's the type of "slums" music. I can definitely see this being used in one of those stick-figure gangster type games :)

Only recommendations I'd make to you are:

Keep the drum loop down. It's really cool, and it's perfect for this song--but it's just too loud.

Up the strings a little. Lowering the drums' volume would help this stick out a little more, also.

Keep up this stuff, it's really catchy!

[Jenna Orchestral Battle Theme]

Kind of unsuitable for a battle...

This seems a little empty--you need some percussion. I mean, if this is going to be a battle theme, it's got to have a lot of impact and power. The "verse" that's in-between everything else with the harp (i think)--i think it's the only part without the loud, high strings--sounds great as a side-break from the chorus--but you need to really work on your instrument choice and percussion. Also, add some bass. Maybe even double up the melody with another instrument than those painfully loud strings.

You clearly have potential, you just need to fix some things before you can let it fly. You have the sense for how a battle theme should go, you just didn't apply it so well here. This reminds me of an Eye of the Tiger emotion. Just follow them guidelines i gave yeh. Look forward to your next submission

Great composition!

This really saddens me--this song is written very nicely, though it's obvious you used MIDI inputs to write it. You should do yourself a favor and go find some free soundfonts on the internet to make your piece sound real. Your drums are really lacking volume and richness with this mix.

Again, your composition is wonderful, you just need to get some more realistic sounds. If you want, I'll put some great soundfonts to use with this and give it back to you for a re-submission, because I think this has great potential to be used in a flash submission--without a doubt.

Yeah, I used midi inputs---I can't really play guitar. Unfortunately. And yes, I've gone through all kinds of heck to try and find a guitar soundfont that's half-way decent...the drums though, are the wonderful ns_kit7...so, maybe they're just too soft? Thanks, though. my email's [e-mail] if you want to send me the song/soundfonts --- I could use them.

This is great! Is it live?

-Drums have a really nice funk loop, with that hi hat open/shut/open/shut 8th rock beat :D

-Wah wah guitar sounds great, you understand well that LESS is MORE sometimes

-Organ sounds cool, too. It's mixed really well into everything else.

I CAN'T BELEIVE it cuts off that shortly. (I'm assuming this isn't a loop, because it doesnt loop well at all, the beginning and end) Dude, at least END it...This would make a fantastic piece for someone to use in their flash if it actually ended. Even if it just comes to a halt--it'd be a cool cinematic effect anyway.

Terrible mic-recording...I reccomend getting a vocal mic or something. Your internal mic won't do for anything decent.

I like the background of the song...and your voice seems cool, but like I said...needs some mixing and better quality (vocals mainly)

Yeah, I just got the mic Im using. Its a vocal mic, but I guess I need a better one, or better handlin skills. 'Lean To The Side's vocals came out alot better than this one did. But again I'm barely coming up, I gotta learn as I go. Good lookin' out.

Err...

This is midi...that's really too bad. If you can't play it, i'd reccomend you apply a soundfont to your MIDI so it sounds real. Also, this is simply a midi rip from the game. It's nothing new or original, there's been hundreds of these exact same renditions already. I still have doubts this is originally yours.
