Great job!

It's really well mixed, it's what we NG audio artists crave for! Great job with the transformation too! The only thing I can ask for: Some variation in the lead melody (lead guitar and piano). You could go in and out of tempo with some more passion on the lead guitar, and this would be a GODLY song! If you can solo a bit on the guitar, that of course would improve the song a lot, too. Just get outside of the eights/quarters on the melody. It leaves me wanting more originality.

Great job, I'm bookmarking you!

ah yes, i see exactly what your saying, i was going to do that, but then i wasn't sure how people would react. people get scared when you change a nintendo song even a bit, so it wasn't a big deal for me, be i see exactly what your saying. thanks man

Sweeet stuff :D

I wouldn't consider it a battle-beat, myself, but maybe we just have different video game influences :). This does make me think of Phantasy Star Online, it's chill-out, moody music. I LOVE this! I just am in love with that snare, it's so chilly :D oo0o0o, now I hear some koto-ish stuff :D Cool! I love that lead pattern. This is SO cool! I'm putting this in my library :D. What I respect about this is, it's not simply blaring bass and drums, and crazy lead patterns--that has a time and place, too--however, here you've put simplicity to the test and passed in flying colors! This is just an awesome track.

Keep it up Zenon :)

PERVOK responds:

Phantasy Star Online is a GREAT game. I used to play it all the time at my friends place... yeah, this beat kind of would fit in there, eh? :)

Thank you for the review!

Undecided...

I'm not sure if I like this or not. I think I don't like the fact that it's only 30 seconds, even though it is a loop. I figure if you're going to have a badass build like you always manage to make, you should have its chorus be at least a considerable bit of time, so your build isn't half the loop.

Cool all around, though!

No wonder you get submissions! :D

Well Zenon, I regretably haven't listened to enough of your stuff, as talented as you are. SO I'm listening...

...and i'm NOT disappointed!

Awesome stuff! I like the way you used those breathy mono leads, they just empower the whole thing. Drum mixing is as flawless as everything else. I don't really like the end, since I just heard it...it like...just...drizzled out. Well, it was kind of cool but I'd rather it just fade--this had me thinking it was a "false ending," like where you'll come in with an all-out chorus. Enough bout the ending. That was great! I'm going to flip through so more more now!

PERVOK responds:

Thank you! I put a lot of work into this, so comments like this make my day!

:D

Definitely good trance! Just needs some work...

This is good stuff! It's true to the original in terms of harmony lines, etc., but it's still got a new touch of trance to it--lots of crazy echoing and weird polysynths! Cool. You really need to put some more effects on those leads though, they are just piercing. You also need some more bass. Not necessarily a square techno bass, but just some equalisation from those hiiiiigh up synth leads.

Cool! You know trance well, and you have potential. You're getting there, you just need to play around with your patches/samples until you get each one juuuust right :D

Keep it up.

I hate throwing tens across the board...

...but this is definitely worth it! You understand cinematics so well, and this is so suitable for your half life 2 mod. Your friends are lucky to have you, you are top-notch quality. I just was hoping for a little bit of definition. But hey, i'm sure you intended for this to be ambiant. Keep it up, Rec0il.

Great job here, but it's obviously too brief

Yeah, it is a loop, but it's so nice enough quality to make you want more! You want to hear a singer or a synth come in! You should re-vamp this whole thing and make it a full song.

Not many people here at newgrounds can make good music with analog mixers or whatever your using (live audio, basically). You need to step it up and make something really cool for us!

Your kick bass is really freaking loud, it kind of distracts me. BTW this is a great drum sample, i like it a lot. And the hi-hats should be panned to the LEFT, not the right :P

Chrizzly responds:

Hehe, cool i get pesonse for Pop as well...maybe ill make a full version...i just got this melody in my head but since im a metal artist, i couldn't use it for anything else than Pop...Thanks for reviewing anyway, we'll see if there will be a full one...maybe i'll even be a "Pop-artist" many thinks my metal tracks are too "Poppy".Keep your eyes open!

You just get it, you know!

You really transcribed the "sliding race" theme from SMW 64 so well! It keeps the original mood very nicely! It is undoubtedly technically appealing, and the emotion is definitely there. You just need to get yourself a couple of Shure SM57 mic's and an audio interface, and you can record this great piano of yours (i can tell it's a good piano, just terrible quality recording) as well as it should be. If anyone here at newgrounds deserves the equipment, it's you. Keep it up, man.

cockjockey responds:

Thanks very much! Too kind.

I'm sounding like a fanboy by now...

...but honestly, this keeps me listening! You have another style of piano i didn't know about until hearing this! I like the style...it's like waltz if it were in 4/4 :)

Very original, more so than to Zanarkand. I really like this! I could even see this being used in an old-style movie Flash of final fantasy :D

Also that jazzy riff at the end of the first half (before the "intermission") is so badass!

Keep it UP man, you're going to get a few submissions by the end of the year if you keep this up!
